A few months ago, while still in the new baby fog, I spotted this gorgeous blanket in issue 23 of Mollie Makes. I fell utterly in love with it. I’ve been coveting a Granny Square Blanket for a long time, and suddenly I was, in my imagination, standing in our future Alpine chalet with this thrown over a huge cherry sleigh bed. One day.
So it’s the first week of Me Made May and in accordance with my pledge (dah dah daaaaaaaaaah) I set out the other day to find some ‘stuff’ to remake and remodel. I had planned on hitting the charity shops, but I had a moo who was rather impatient for food, so I didn’t quite make it that far.
My littlest nephew turned 1 last week and to celebrate I thought I’d create a little tank top for him. Inspired by a cardigan I saw recently with block colours in the front and stripes in the back panel, I really liked the idea of the front of the tank looking like a ‘zoomed in’ version of the back – hence the name. I wanted to make a neckwarmer for a very good friend of mine who is not only an avid snowboarder (and therefore spends a fair amount of time each year in SERIOUSLY cold conditions) but has a brilliant sense of style and flair.
So, the other day, the lovely Flossie Jamieson dropped by here and left me a comment about Me Made May ’13. (I know, people really read this stuff?! Incredible!)
